Does plastic make us sick?
Unfortunately, yes.
Plastic contains additives that are scientifically-proven to cause cancer, change hormone activity linked to infertility, obesity, diabetes, thyroid problems and increased risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
According to WWF, the average person could be ingesting approximately 5 grams of plastic every week,
which is the equivalent weight of a credit card.
Each day we are breathing in, ingesting, or touching plastics that are harmful for us and our children, the animals, the environment and the oceans.
Plastic is everywhere - in children’s toys, in your carpet, in your kitchen utensils, on the artificial field turf, on children playgrounds, in the liner of cans, in lotions… so many places!

And it’s not just BPA we need to worry about. Additives such as PET, PS, PVC, Polycarbonate, Phthalates, are scientifically proven to be carcinogens, mimic hormones and lead to a myriad of diseases in humans and embryos.
I know all of this sounds disturbing, the truth is not pretty, nor easy to digest.

That said, there are things that you can do to reduce the amount of harmful plastics you come into contact with every day.

Implementing green living solutions one step at a time,
I am here to tell you about a product I am using to reduce the harmful effects of plastics for my family.
It’s a natural and reusable food wrap that replaces the use of plastic containers and plastic cling wrap/Saran Wrap.
All black kitchen utensils contain harmful plastic additives.
Many carpets contain fire-retardant additives & other plasticides that are harmful to our children.
Artificial turf on game fields is made of recycled car tires that contain harmful plastics for humans
I love these foodwraps because:

-
They reduce exposure to plastic by using natural - organic - ingredients
-
They eliminate plastic waste and...
-
They keep my food fresh
-
They are reusable, biodegradable, organic & natural

But above all, I feel good about protecting my family from harmful plastics every day; protecting the environment from adding plastic to the landfill, and creating a better, more sustainable world for my child to live in.
